Reading At Home
I will be adding some activities you can do at home with your kids to the grade-level tabs above. Click your child's grade-level to find appropriate activities!
If you are looking for some ways to keep your kids reading at home, here are some helpful resources I have found for digital books.
This app is loaded with lots of options for digital books for kids! They are offering free access to their entire library right now due to the COVID-19 outbreak. You can only access this free resource, though, through a teacher invite, so contact Mrs. Schroer or Mrs. Tellman if you'd like to have this.

Also accessed through your library card, Hoopla can be used as an app on your mobile device or online. When you login with your library card, you can borrow eBooks and audiobooks (as well as movies and music and other digital resources). This is free if you have a library card and your library is connected. I know that Missouri River Regional Library in Jefferson City and Morgan County Library in Versailles both participate.

Famous actors and actresses read aloud a wide variety of picture books. Really fun to listen! Visit their website: click here.
This is an app full of audiobooks. In an audiobook format, you do not see the pages of the book. You only listen to a recording of someone reading the book. Content for kids is free right now. Visit their site: click here.

Another online option for accessing a variety of picture book titles. Your students can listen to books read aloud in a video format. I like that they show the pages so the kids can read along. This is a subscription service, but you can sometimes access the books without cost if you have a library card. Check with your library to see if this is available to you. I know Morgan County Library in Versailles subscribes, for instance, and it can be accessed by logging in to your account on the Morgan County Library website.

Text to Speech Tool
Text to Speech tools read a written text aloud to your student. These are very helpful if your child is struggling to read grade-level materials independently. There are many, many apps available for this! You can search your app store for many that are free to use and have a variety of different features.
